Our Mission Statement

With our passion for excellence in hair & beauty, we aim to deliver a unique experience, in a relaxed caring environment.

Linley’s Story

“I have learnt and made mistakes along the way. I feel those challenges and obstacles have kept me motivated, and focused me to create the model of Hair Scene you see today.

The team likes to make clients feel special, so they spend more time looking at each client’s hair during consultations, ensuring they walk out feeling like they have had a “WOW” experience.”

Client Loyalty

Linley would like to thank her many loyal clients who have been coming to the salon for 30 years.

“My biggest asset is my team. Time spent encouraging motivating and inspiring through training in both hairdressing and generic skills ensures we are all satisfied, happy and wanting to be part of an exciting place to work”.

The Team

The Hair Scene team has had many successes over the years.

Winners of the Telecom Employer of Choice in 2013, competing against other top salons throughout the country.

Ongoing Training

Hair Scene has also been a HITO Training Salon of the Year finalists for two years.
Training is an essential part of hairdressing, without it you get bored, then your clients get bored.

Training more than 12 apprentices to full qualications has kept Linley busy as she gives one-on-one training on a Monday night (as she has done for 24 years).

Three of Hair Scene’s current employees have been Gateway students, all from Orewa College.
Linley has kept herself up to date attending the Hair Expo in Sydney most years since 1995, returning with the latest trends and lots of fresh ideas.

For the past 17 years she has been a HITO Industry Assessor, going into salons and assessing an apprentice’s final two unit standards before they become qualified.
Recently she started a National Certificate in Business level three with the Open Polytechnic and HITO.

To make an appointment and experience the “WOW” factor, you can…
